Leo Wayne's Story
Life
After High School I attended Jeff Davis Jr College and then graduated from Delta State University in 1970. I began a newspaper career with what was then The Daily Herald in the advertising dept. in 1971. In 1976 I started a weekly newspaper in Gulfport called the Gulfport Star Journal. In 1980 I sold the paper and entered the insurance business with Fox Everett Insurance, an agency based in Jackson with a branch in Gulfport. In 1985 I joined Stewart Sneed Hewes, and agency in Gulfport. I became a principal in 1989 and in 1999 we sold the agency to BancorpSouth. I still work for them today.
I married Jerrye Jenner in 1974. She grew up in the Panama Canal Zone, attended USM and was teaching elementary school when we met at Bayou View South apartments, where we were both living. We have three Childre...Expand for more
n, Brad age 26, who is now married, living in Jackson and works for KPMG accounting. Tyler, age 22 recently joined the US Air Force and is currently undergoing training in Communications Navigation. My daughter Reagan, is age 17, a junior at Gulport High School, and is planning to go to college and study medicine.
My family and I enjoy the water. We have a Biloxi Lugger named "Alligator" which we cruise along the Gulf Coast. My hobbies have included photography, sailing, politics, and woodworking.
We stay in touch with many of our 1966 classmates who live here on the Gulf Coast. I have attended all of the reunions and participated in the planning of several. I always look forward to the next one which will hopefully present an opportunity to see some of the classmates from our High School years.
